Every so often, someone will ask me about how I got started as a writer, how they can get published or some other question related to writing. Since some of the same questions come up from time to time, I thought I’d start putting my answers all in one place so that I could later refer people to them.
Last week I invited fans of my Facebook Page to ask me anything and I got five questions right away. The answer to the first one is on my “Piece of Mind” blog right here: You Asked Me. Check it out! Stay tuned for more questions and please go ahead and send me any questions you have. You can either leave them in the comments here, at my other blog or on Facebook.
Edited on May 14: And here’s a link to the fifth and final post in the series, where I share tips on being a successful writer: You Asked Me! #5

We’re still finalizing the cover of my next book, but Truth, Dare, Double Dare is already available for pre-order from Amazon and many other retailers. It’s scheduled to be released on October 1. . . eight more months to go!
Stay tuned for more details in the coming months. In the meantime, have you “liked” my Facebook page yet? Click here to find it.

On Thursday, May 2, I had the honour of accepting a first-place award during the Evangelical Press Association’s annual Higher Goals awards ceremony in Nashville. My article in the May 2012 issue of Christianity Today, namely Quebec: Canada’s Prodigal Province, took first place in the Freelance Article category.
This piece was truly a labour of love and possibly my most challenging assignment since I started freelancing nearly 17 years ago, so receiving this award was quite meaningful.
I made some great connections here in Nashville so I look forward to seeing what writing opportunities lie around the bend.
Have a great day!

Since this blog is mainly for announcing major news about my books and other projects, it’s not necessarily the best way for me to communicate on a personal level with my readers. So I invite you to visit and “like” my newly launched Facebook author page (www.facebook.com/ann.hovsepian.author). Check it regularly for updates, fun posts and inspiration thoughts.
Hope to see you there soon! And while I’m here, let me wish you all a very blessed weekend as we remember and celebrate Christ’s death and resurrection. Hallelujah!

I never imagined I would see the day when one of my books would published into a foreign language so it was a wonderful surprise this past week to discover that Truth & Dare – One Year of Dynamic Devotions for Girls has been translated into Portuguese and is now available on a few Brazilian websites. Here’s one example.
What a blessing to have an opportunity to reach Portuguese-speaking tween girls with God’s Word!
Thank you all for your continued prayers about this special ministry.
P.S. In other news, I’m three weeks from deadline for submitting the manuscript for the next Truth & Dare book, which is projected to be released in the fall of 2014. Stay tuned for further news on that!

January 1 is always a great time to thank God for all His past blessings… as well as all the blessings in store for us. To me, true faith is thanking God before He answers my prayers, and not only after.
I wish you all the very best for 2013! Thank you for all the wonderful support and feedback you’ve sent my way, especially since the release of Truth & Dare. The Facebook page (check it out here) now has more than 200 “likes” and I hope to see that number continue to grow. Lately I’ve been posting inspirational thoughts (rather than simply news about the book), so go ahead and “like” the page, even if you don’t have a copy of the book. Just come and hang out with us! 😀
Your continued prayers are appreciated as the first couple of months of this year will be intensely focused on writing my next book, the sequel (so to speak) to Truth & Dare, tentatively titled Double Dare. Stay tuned for further updates!
Blessings to you and your loved ones,

If you’ve got a Facebook account, you’ll want to run over to www.facebook.com/truth.dare.devotions and check out my latest giveaway. There’s a super-easy contest you can enter for a chance to win a copy of Truth & Dare for a special tween girl in your life. I’ll also be giving away TWO sets of two hand-lettered and illustrated (by me) personalized bookmarks to random winners.
If you’re not on Facebook, you can still participate. If you have a young tween girlfriend (or daughter or niece, etc.) that you think would love to have a copy of Truth & Dare for Christmas, send me a note at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell me a little bit about her and why you’d like to share this devo with her. Be sure to give me your mailing address, too.
You must email me by November 30! I’ll read through the entries over the weekend of December 1 and choose a winner on December 3. I will also include a little surprise for you if I pick your entry. Hurry and enter!

So today was the day I was to choose a name from among all those who entered the latest giveaway… and we’ve got our winner!
Angel Pendleton was the sixth person out of 13 to enter the giveaway and her name came up in a random draw. At Angel’s choice, I will send a copy of Designer Genes signed to her daughter Grace. Woohoo! Congratulations, Angel and Grace (what great names, by the way). 😀
Thanks to everyone else who participated. If you’d still like to get a copy of one of my books, check out the buying options on the “Books” page of my website.
You can see photos of the very old-fashioned way I selected the winner here, in the Designer Genes Facebook photo album. (Please “like” the page after you visit it!)

Do you know a preteen girl who would be encouraged by a devotional designed just for her age group? I’d love to send her a copy of either Desiger Genes or Truth & Dare.
Leave a comment here before midnight June 30 and I’ll enter your name in a draw to receive a free copy of either book. All you have to do is state which book you’d prefer to win (click on the “Books” tab above to learn about each book) and tell me the first name of the girl you’d like to give the book to.
I’ll pick the winning name on July 1, which is Canada Day up here in the Great White North! 😀 Then I’ll contact the winner to get the appropriate mailing address. Before sending out the book, I’ll inscribe a personal message to the girl who will receive the devotional.
If you post a link to this contest on your blog (and come back here to let me know and share a link to that blog post), I’ll enter your name a second time and, if you win, I’ll throw in a bonus Canada Day fun surprise with the book.
Woohoo! Can’t wait to hear from you all!
